Our weekly football predictions cover all ten Premier League games and six big European fixtures from 16 to 19 October 2026, with a result pick, a correct-score pick and a short reason for each. We publish the evidence and the confidence level, then grade every pick in public.
As of Tuesday 13 October 2026, 2:45pm WAT. Picks for Saturday 17 to Monday 19 October. All kick-off times are Nigeria time (WAT).
TL;DR
- Strongest picks: Manchester City to beat Ipswich (3-0) and PSG to win at Strasbourg (1-2).
- Closest calls: Leeds v Manchester United (Leeds or draw) and Brentford v Liverpool (Brentford or draw).
- Not an international break: Premier League Matchweek 7 and full rounds in LaLiga, Serie A, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 follow Champions League Matchday 2.
- Track record: tracking starts this week; we grade every pick after Monday night.

Which football matches are on this weekend?
Club football returns in full this weekend. The international break ended last week, and Champions League Matchday 2 runs on Tuesday and Wednesday, so several clubs play three games in seven days. The Premier League confirmed the Matchweek 7 kick-off times in its 2026/27 fixture list, and we cross-checked every fixture and time against ESPN’s fixture pages.
“Market chance” shows the bookmaker’s implied probability for the named side to win, taken from ESPN’s listed lines on 13 October 2026 (margin included, so treat it as approximate). Confidence follows fixed rules: High needs a market chance of 70% or more and no serious team-news worry; Medium covers 50–69%, or a High pick we downgrade for team news; Low covers everything else.
What are our Premier League predictions for Matchweek 7?

| Man City v Ipswich Town | Sat 17 Oct, 15:00 | Man City win | 3-0 | 82% Man City | High |
| Newcastle v Aston Villa | Sat 17 Oct, 17:30 | Newcastle win | 2-1 | 45% Newcastle | Low |
| Bournemouth v Sunderland | Sun 18 Oct, 14:00 | Draw | 1-1 | 50% Bournemouth | Low |
| Brighton v Crystal Palace | Sun 18 Oct, 14:00 | Brighton win | 2-0 | 64% Brighton | Medium |
| Leeds v Man United | Sun 18 Oct, 14:00 | Leeds or draw | 1-1 | 41% Leeds | Medium |
| Nott’m Forest v Arsenal | Sun 18 Oct, 16:30 | Arsenal win | 0-1 | 64% Arsenal | Medium |
| Tottenham v Coventry City | Mon 19 Oct, 20:00 | Tottenham win | 2-1 | 68% Tottenham | Low |
Everton vs Chelsea prediction: Draw (Low)
Everton sit fifth and remain unbeaten after six games, with four draws. Chelsea sit sixth on ten points but miss Reece James (knee) and Jamie Gittens (ankle). The market leans only slightly towards Chelsea, and Everton’s draw-heavy start points to a stalemate.
Brentford vs Liverpool prediction: Brentford or draw (Medium)
Brentford sit fourth and have not lost in six games. Liverpool sit ninth after a 3-0 home defeat to Manchester City, travel to LASK on Wednesday, and miss Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Hugo Ekitike, while Ryan Gravenberch serves a domestic ban. We back the hosts to avoid defeat.
Fulham vs Hull City prediction: Fulham win (Low)
Fulham sit bottom without a win, but the market still makes them 60% favourites at Craven Cottage. Hull sit eighth after losing just once. We follow the market, but Fulham’s form keeps confidence low.
Man City vs Ipswich prediction: Man City win (High)
City have won all six league games and scored 16 goals, including the 3-0 win at Anfield on Sunday. Ipswich have lost three of six. This is our banker of the week.
Newcastle vs Aston Villa prediction: Newcastle win (Low)
Newcastle lost 4-1 at Coventry on Monday and now wait on Bazoumana Touré’s injury. Villa sit 16th with one win. Home advantage tips it, narrowly.
Bournemouth vs Sunderland prediction: Draw (Low)
Both clubs played in the Europa League on Thursday, which is why the game moved to Sunday. Bournemouth have no league win and lost 5-1 at Chelsea; Sunderland sit 17th. Two tired, struggling sides point to a draw.
Brighton vs Crystal Palace prediction: Brighton win (Medium)
Brighton sit third with the league’s best goal difference (+13). Palace sit 12th and also played on Thursday in Europe. Brighton at home is the solid side of this derby.
Leeds vs Man United prediction: Leeds or draw (Medium)
Leeds sit seventh and have lost once. United sit 13th with one league win, play Atlético Madrid on Tuesday, and left Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo at home for that trip, with Benjamin Šeško, Patrick Dorgu and Manuel Ugarte also out. The market sees a close game; we lean to Leeds avoiding defeat.
Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal prediction: Arsenal win (Medium)
Arsenal sit second with five wins and have conceded only five goals. Forest sit 15th. Arsenal lose Piero Hincapié and Martín Zubimendi (both ankle) and still miss William Saliba, so we expect a tight away win rather than a rout.
Tottenham vs Coventry prediction: Tottenham win (Low)
The market makes Spurs 68% favourites, but they sit 19th without a league win, lose Rodrigo Bentancur to a three-match ban and still miss Pedro Porro. Coventry arrive after a 4-1 win over Newcastle. We follow the price with low confidence.

What are our LaLiga, Serie A and Ligue 1 predictions?
| Match | League | Kick-off (WAT) | Prediction | Correct score | Market chance | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strasbourg v PSG | Ligue 1 | Sat 17 Oct, 16:15 | PSG win | 1-2 | 71% PSG | High |
| Bologna v Inter | Serie A | Sat 17 Oct, 17:00 | Inter win | 1-2 | 65% Inter | Medium |
| Real Betis v Barcelona | LaLiga | Sat 17 Oct, 17:30 | Barcelona win | 1-2 | 71% Barcelona | Medium |
| AC Milan v Atalanta | Serie A | Sun 18 Oct, 17:00 | Milan or draw | 1-1 | 55% Milan | Low |
| Juventus v Lazio | Serie A | Sun 18 Oct, 19:45 | Juventus or draw | 1-1 | 62% Juventus | Low |
| Real Madrid v Sevilla | LaLiga | Sun 18 Oct, 20:00 | Real Madrid win | 2-0 | 80% Real Madrid | Medium |
Strasbourg vs PSG prediction: PSG win (High)
PSG sit sixth on 11 points, three behind leaders Monaco, and the market gives them 71%. Strasbourg sit 11th. PSG host Manchester City on Wednesday, but their depth still makes them clear favourites.
Bologna vs Inter prediction: Inter win (Medium)
Inter top Serie A unbeaten with 18 goals in six games. Bologna sit 14th with one win. Inter host Club Brugge on Tuesday, so rotation keeps this at Medium.
Real Betis vs Barcelona prediction: Barcelona win (Medium)
Barcelona top LaLiga and Betis sit third, so this is a genuine top-three clash at La Cartuja. Raphinha missed the Galatasaray squad with a muscle problem, and his fitness decides how strong Barcelona look. We downgrade from High to Medium.
AC Milan vs Atalanta prediction: Milan or draw (Low)
Milan sit fifth and remain unbeaten, but they have lost Matteo Gabbia with a thigh injury that Gazzetta says will keep him out until 2027. Atalanta sit tenth. Milan should avoid defeat, without convincing us they will win.
Juventus vs Lazio prediction: Juventus or draw (Low)
Lazio sit second, unbeaten, and have conceded only four goals. Juventus sit sixth. The market favours Juventus at home, but Lazio’s defence makes a low-scoring game likely.
Real Madrid vs Sevilla prediction: Real Madrid win (Medium)
Madrid sit fourth and Sevilla fifth, but the market makes Madrid 80% favourites. Vinícius Júnior faces a ban of one to three matches for his red card against Villarreal, and Madrid play Roma on Wednesday, so we hold the pick at Medium.
No senior international fixtures fall in this window: the October international break has finished, and the next one starts in November.

How do we make our football predictions?
We build every pick from the same five inputs, so you can repeat the process and check us afterwards:
- Market odds: we convert prices into implied probability, because markets pool a lot of information.
- Form: this season’s table and recent results, not last season’s reputation.
- Team news: confirmed injuries and suspensions from club statements and reputable media.
- Schedule: midweek Champions League and Europa League games force rotation.
- Correct score: the single most likely scoreline, which lands far less often than the result pick, so treat it as a guide.
Read how we check our facts and our ownership and affiliate disclosure. Champsquads belongs to 8xbet, and that commercial link never changes a fixture, a table or a piece of team news.
How accurate have our predictions been?
Tracking starts this week. We will grade all 16 picks after Tottenham vs Coventry on Monday night and add a row here every week, losses included, with hit rates by confidence level. If High picks stop landing clearly more often than Low ones, we will fix our rules.
| Week | Picks | Correct | Hit rate | Correct scores |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 17–19 Oct 2026 (tracking starts this week) | 16 | Graded after 19 Oct | – | – |
| All weeks | 0 graded | – | – | – |
How should you use these predictions?
- Compare prices: if a bookmaker’s odds imply a lower chance than our market column, the price looks generous; if higher, the value has gone.
- Prefer singles: accumulators multiply risk. Even our two High picks only land together around 58% of the time on these numbers.
- Stake by confidence: put less on Low picks, or skip them.
- Check team news again: line-ups arrive about an hour before kick-off.

FAQ
What does double chance mean in football betting?
Double chance covers two of the three possible results in one bet: home or draw, away or draw, or home or away. The odds are shorter than a straight win bet because you cover more outcomes.
What is a banker in football betting?
A banker is the selection a bettor feels most confident about, often used as the fixed leg of a multiple or system bet. Remember that no banker is ever certain.
Are free football predictions reliable?
Judge any free tipster by a dated, public record that includes losing picks. Sites that show only winners hide the real hit rate.
What time should I place a football bet?
Many bettors wait until confirmed line-ups appear, about an hour before kick-off, because late team news can move the odds sharply.
